誰そ彼
Installation View Tape, Pine seeds, Single-channel Video, 1080p, 5’46’’, 2025
誰そ彼 is a video installation I created in 2025 as part of the SARUYA residency programme in Yamayoshida. 誰そ彼 means “twilight” in Japanese. When twilight falls, one cannot discern the identity of the person before them. This work explores the concept of ‘神隐’ (the disappearance of humans into the mountains by deities) in Japanese culture, seeking to examine the connection between humans and nature, collective fantasy, and the conflict between the fear and desire for disappearance.
